Peanut Butter and Chocolate Nature’s Candy Cups

if you’re on the lookout for a zero added sugar, semi-sweet treat that’s both delicious and nutritious, look no further than these Peanut Butter and Chocolate Nature’s Candy Cups!

these cute little cups are not only a feast for your taste buds but also a wholesome indulgence for your body.

with a handful of simple ingredients, you can whip up a batch of these delectable treats that are sure to satisfy your sweet cravings without added sugar.

ingredients:

  • melted unsweetened chocolate

  • crunchy peanut butter

  • medjool dates

  • a sprinkle of sea salt

benefits of the ingredients:

unsweetened chocolate: the star of the show, unsweetened chocolate is the key to making these candy cups a healthier option. unlike regular chocolate, it contains zero added sugar, which means you can enjoy the rich, chocolatey flavor without about excessive sweetness with the dates. plus, dark chocolate is loaded with antioxidants!

cunchy peanut butter: peanut butter adds a creamy and nutty element to these cups, making them irresistibly satisfying. it’s a great source of plant-based protein, healthy fats, and essential nutrients like vitamin E, magnesium, and potassium. the combo of peanut butter and chocolate is a match made in heaven, creating a perfect balance of flavors and textures!

medjool dates: dates are nature’s natural sweetener and the secret to achieving the sweetness in these candy cups. they create a caramel-like sweetness and a chewy texture, which is divine! dates are also rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals, making them a nutritious addition to desserts.

sea salt: this is optiional, BUT a pinch of sea salt on top not only enhances the flavor profile but also adds a perfect contrast to the sweetness. sea salt contains essential minerals like sodium, magnesium, and potassium, and it can help balance the flavors in your treats.

as you likely know, i am OBSESSED with dates! using dates to sweeten your desserts is a game-changer. not only do they impart a natural sweetness, but they also offer a host of nutritional benefits.

to make these heavenly candy cups, start by melting the unsweetened chocolate and lining a muffin tin with paper liners.

once the chocolate has melted, spoon a small amount into each liner, creating the base of the cups. then, add a dollop of crunchy peanut butter on top of the chocolate.

next, you can simply add some pitted and flattened out dates to the top! finish off by drizzling a little more melted chocolate and a sprinkle of sea salt on each cup.

pop them in the fridge to set, and in no time, you’ll have a batch of date-sweetened, sugar-free peanut butter and chocolate candy cups ready to enjoy.

if you’re looking to make these Peanut Butter and Chocolate Nature’s Candy Cups nut-free, there are some alternatives to peanut butter that you can use.

one fantastic option is sunflower seed butter, which has a creamy consistency and a mild, nutty flavor. it’s an excellent choice for those with nut allergies or sensitivities.

alternatively, if you prefer a more neutral taste, you can opt for tahini, which is made from sesame seeds. tahini has a rich and slightly savory profile that pairs wonderfully with the chocolate and date sweetness.

to make this recipe nut-free, simply replace the crunchy peanut butter with your chosen nut-free alternative in equal quantities. also, make sure the chocolate you’re using does not contain nuts!

the result will be just as delicious and satisfying, offering a nut-free twist on these delightful candy cups.

so whether you’re a fan of classic peanut butter or exploring nut-free options, these date-sweetened chocolate cups are a versatile treat that everyone can enjoy!!
