Amazing Vegan Brownie Pie

  • crust

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    2 tbsp raw cane sugar
    4 ounces cold vegan butter (e.g., miyoko’s)
    1/3 cup dairy-free milk
    1/4 tsp sea salt

  • brownie filling

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    3/4 cup raw cane sugar (or any other vegan sugar)
    1/2 cup cocoa powder
    1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup melted vegan butter
    1/2 cup vegan applesauce
    1/2 tbsp vanilla extract
    1/2 cup vegan chocolate chips or chunks (can use some with no added sugar like pascha)


  • preheat your oven to 350 degrees. in a food processor, combine gluten-free all-purpose flour, cane sugar, cold vegan butter, dairy-free milk, and sea salt.
  • pulse the ingredients until a dough forms. press the dough evenly into a pie pan (10″), covering the bottom and sides. bake the pie crust in the preheated oven for 18 minutes.
  • after baking the pie crust, keep the oven at 350 degrees. in a food processor, blend together all of the brownie ingredients until a smooth batter forms. then, fold in the chocolate chips.
  • pour the brownie mixture onto the pre-baked pie crust, spreading it evenly. bake in the oven for an additional 25 minutes. allow the brownie pie to cool before slicing and serving. i let mine cool in the fridge for a couple of hours.
  • serve with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

  1. Hi, I’m a little confused. You mention coconut yogurt and avocado oil in the blog portion towards the top, but neither ingredient is listed in the actual recipe. Are these supposed to be included in the recipe or are they alternatives for the applesauce and butter? I don’t see any notes about it and would love clarification. Thank you!
