brownie filling
1 cup all-purpose flour 3/4 cup raw cane sugar (or any other vegan sugar) 1/2 cup cocoa powder 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup melted vegan butter or avocado oil 1/2 cup vegan applesauce 1/2 tbsp vanilla extract 1/2 cup vegan chocolate chips or chunks (can use some with no added sugar like pascha)
Instructions
preheat your oven to 350 degrees. in a food processor, combine gluten-free all-purpose flour, cane sugar, cold vegan butter, dairy-free milk, and sea salt.
pulse the ingredients until a dough forms. press the dough evenly into a pie pan (10u0022), covering the bottom and sides. bake the pie crust in the preheated oven for 18 minutes.
after baking the pie crust, keep the oven at 350 degrees. in a food processor, blend together all of the brownie ingredients until a smooth batter forms. then, fold in the chocolate chips.
pour the brownie mixture onto the pre-baked pie crust, spreading it evenly. bake in the oven for an additional 25 minutes. allow the brownie pie to cool before slicing and serving. i let mine cool in the fridge for a couple of hours.
