Vegan Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal

cinnamon rolls are really well, the best thing ever! so any time i can make cinnamon roll flavored anything, there’s a one hundred percent chance i’m going to. from cookies to cakes, cupcakes, oatmeal and smoothies, the options are endless. there’s nothing better than a cozy bowl of oatmeal in the morning, so this recipe is just perfect!

lots of people request food tutorials, so i did one for Vegan Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal this morning. i’ll be sure to save it to my food tutorial highlight so you can make it with me! oatmeal is pretty easy to make, but it really helps to watch someone make something.

so, what are you going to need for this recipe?

  • old fashioned oats
  • unsweetened dairy free milk
  • applesauce
  • creamy dairy free yogurt
  • cinnamon
  • vegan butter
  • coconut sugar
  • water

if you need to replace the coconut sugar, go for it! you can definitely use maple syrup or any sweetener of your choosing. additionally, you can use any dairy free yogurt, but i recommend coconut if you have some on hand or access to it. if you don’t have applesauce but have some leftover pumpkin purรฉe, i would use that!

Vegan Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 1 cup old fashioned oats

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (a little more for a splash at the end)

  • 1.5 cups water

  • 2 tbsp dairy free yogurt

  • 2 tbsp unsweetened applesauce

  • 1 tbsp vegan butter

  • 1/2 tbsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp almond extract

  • 2 tbsp coconut sugar

Directions

  • add all ingredients to a large pot or pan.
  • turn the heat up to high only until everything comes to a boil, then, turn the heat down to medium.
  • stir often and cook for 8-9 minutes or until the oatmeal is thick and creamy.
  • add a splash of almond milk at the end and enjoy! you can top with a yogurt or coconut cream swirl.

  1. I’ve seen people use oat flour to make single-serve oatmeal “cakes”. That might be something to try- I love the concept but have had terrible luck with the recipes I’ve tried (both were pretty bland). I never have that issue with your recipes, though!
