happy Tuesday friends! whew, this is my first blog post in a while, a new one that is. i can’t think of something better than deliciously cakey donuts that are vegan and gluten free. while these are perfect on their own, i made a semi homemade icing with chocolate frosting and peanut butter.
everything about these donuts is easy and delicious. they’re done easily within 30 minutes including prep time.
the baking time is only 20-22 minutes and they’re so light!
if you’re just not a fan of peanut butter or want to use another nut or seed butter, go for it!
the next best replacement would be almond butter. sunflower seed butter aka sunbutter would be really yummy too!
there’s also a sugar free option, minus the chocolate frosting on top haha. you could use lakanto sweetener if you want like i did!
if not, organic cane sugar works perfectly! in fact, you could probably even use coconut sugar and that would work nicely too.
for this recipe, i used gluten-free all purpose flour and have not tried this recipe with anything else!
you are welcome to try other flours but sub at your own risk, because the recipe will not turn out the same.
the brand that i used is arrowhead mills, so just check the ingredients that comprise the gf flour formula so that yours turn out the same :).
while i don’t really have many donut recipes on my blog, that’s totally going to change now that i have donut pans lol.

Vegan and Gluten Free Peanut Butter Cake DonutsCourse: Desserts, DonutsDifficulty: Easy
1 cup plain and unsweetened dairy free milk (room temp-make sure it’s not cold)
2 tbsp room temp coconut oil or vegan butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup lakanto classic sweetener or organic cane sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 and 1/2 cups gluten free all purpose flour
1/2 cup store-bought chocolate frosting
1/3 cup peanut butter
- preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- whisk the wet ingredients and then add in the dry ones. add the dough to greased donut molds.
- bake at 350 degrees for 20-22 minutes and then cool down completely before adding the frosting, which you can whisk together in a bowl.
- store in the fridge or freezer in an airtight container.
