taste and texture

this dip is creamy, cheesy, and packed with flavor thanks to the everything but the bagel seasoning.

the chickpeas and tofu blend together to create a smooth and rich base, while the vegan mozzarella adds that classic cheesy taste we all love.

the hemp hearts add a slight nutty flavor and extra protein, making this dip both delicious and nutritious.

how to make vegan cheesy high protein everything bagel dip

making this dip is easy and only requires a few simple steps:

  1. preheat oven: preheat your oven to 400°f (200°c).
  2. blend ingredients: in a food processor, combine 1 can (15 oz) of rinsed and drained chickpeas, 1/2 cup of thick and creamy coconut yogurt (or vegan sour cream/cream cheese), 1 tbsp everything but the bagel seasoning, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 14 oz silken tofu, and 1/4 cup hemp hearts. blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. fold in cheese: transfer the blended mixture to a mixing bowl and fold in 1 cup of vegan shredded mozzarella cheese until evenly distributed.
  4. transfer to baking dish: pour the mixture into an oven-safe baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  5. add topping: sprinkle additional vegan shredded mozzarella cheese on top. if you have miyoko’s liquid vegan mozzarella, drizzle it over the top for extra cheesy goodness.
  6. bake: bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, until the dip is hot and bubbly.
  7. optional broil: if you want the top to be extra bubbly and slightly browned, turn on the broiler for the last 2-3 minutes. keep a close eye on it to avoid burning.
  8. serve: remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.

different types of vegan cheese

there are some amazing vegan cheese options that you can use in this recipe!

  • vegan shredded mozzarella: this is a classic choice and melts well.
  • miyoko’s liquid vegan mozzarella: highly recommended for its creamy texture and great taste.
  • vegan cream cheese: adds a tangy flavor and creamy consistency.
  • vegan cheddar: for a sharper, more robust flavor than mozzarella.

feel free to experiment with different vegan cheeses to find your favorite combination.

vegan substitutions

this recipe is already vegan, but there are a few substitutions you can make based on your preferences:

  • coconut yogurt: if you prefer, you can use vegan sour cream or vegan cream cheese instead.
  • hemp hearts: you can replace these with chia seeds or flaxseeds for a different texture and flavor.
  • silken tofu: any softer tofu will work, but silken tofu provides the best creamy consistency.

higher protein

this dip is higher in protein thanks to the combination of chickpeas, tofu, and hemp hearts.

chickpeas are a great source of plant-based protein and fiber, tofu is rich in protein and contains all nine essential amino acids, and hemp hearts are packed with protein, healthy fats, and essential nutrients.
