The Best Homemade Vegan Burgers

it’s a good day to have a good day and The Best Homemade Vegan Burgers are sure to add joy to yours. they’re incredibly easy to make and are packed with all of the veggies, seasoning and more. also, this recipe comes with a sauce, and it should be called THE SAUCE because it’s just incredible.

while there’s a billion and one vegan burgers out there, it’s always fun to try something new! this is probably going to a be a recipe that you’ve never tried before.

there’s a few different components to The Best Homemade Vegan Burgers. first, you’re going to need a ground meat alternative. i used Meatless Farm and bought it at my local Whole Foods.

check their website to see where you can buy it but i do know there are other brands to choose from, that’s just what i prefer in terms of taste, texture and quality.

the veggies in the burgers add such a nice texture AND nutrients, which we love right?! additionally The Best Homemade Vegan Burgers have hummus and vegan shredded cheese in them.

you can use any brand that you like! for the hummus, i used Tabbouleh from Trader Joe’s and then Miyoko’s vegan cheddar.

love love love the added cheesy component because it’s not overpowering with the additional melted cheese on top. for that, i used field roast chao cheese but feel free to leave it out altogether!

as you can see, i used a lettuce bun or wrap for the burgers, but of course use whatever you would like! i just have a hard time finding vegan burger buns with at least pretty good ingredients.

always on the lookout though and if you know of any, please let me know!

instead of a bun or lettuce though, you could just use bread, which is so yummy. i bet that’s what Alex will do because i just bought him more Ezekiel bread. it would be perfect as a bun alternative, i just recommend toasting the bread first!

what all did i use for the burgers and sauce?!

for the burgers:

  • ground meat alternative

  • sweet potato

  • portobello mushrooms

  • hummus

  • vegan shredded cheese

  • dijon mustard

  • minced garlic

  • onion powder

  • chili powder

  • ground cumin

for the sauce:
