as a vegan of over five years, i’ve made tofu about a billion different ways! from baking, frying, steaming and puréeing, you can say i’ve done it all. The Best Crispy Tofu is so dang good and my all-time favorite way to prepare it! a splash of orange juice, avocado oil, sriracha, liquid aminos and minced garlic are all you’re going to need! oh, and tofu too of course haha.
my favorite way to eat The Best Crispy Tofu is with all of the veggies, avocado, hummus and roasted cashews. a loaded bowl of plant based goodies is the absolute best!!
The Best Crispy Tofu is super easy to put together. you cut extra firm tofu into cubes and throw them into a mixing bowl. add the other ingredients, coat the cubes well and there ya go!
tofu skeptics, i promise you will find this recipe yummy! i think extra firm is the only way to go, especially when you’re making it extra crispy. also, i don’t have a tofu press, which is surprising, but i was able to use a couple of paper towels to get rid of some excess liquid.
the citrus component from the orange juice is such a good addition, but if you’re not a fan, you can leave it out! may i suggest some pineapple juice perhaps? pineapple, tofu, sriracha and liquid aminos are matches made in heaven.
