greek girl spanakopita dip

if you grew up on spanakopita or just fell in love with it later in life, this cozy and creamy dip version is going to win your heart.

it’s everything you love about traditional spanakopita filling—tangy, herby, cheesy, and full of spinach—but in a warm, scoopable form. and trust me, this one is seriously addicting.

greek girl spanakopita dip is creamy and rich from a base of cream cheese and full-fat greek yogurt, perfectly balanced with fresh lemon zest, garlic, dill, and just the right amount of melted mozzarella.

the spinach is steamed and thoroughly squeezed so the dip stays thick and luscious—not watery.

and a touch of cornstarch beaten into the mix makes the final texture extra smooth and scoopable.

it bakes up golden, warm, and bubbly, and it’s the ultimate cozy appetizer or party snack. you can serve it with pita chips, crackers, or even fresh veggies and it’s always a hit.

how to make greek girl spanakopita dip

start by beating softened cream cheese, full-fat greek yogurt, and cornstarch until smooth and fluffy.

then stir in finely chopped, well-drained steamed spinach, garlic paste, onion powder, dried dill, lemon zest, mozzarella cheese, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

spread it into a baking dish, drizzle with a little olive oil if you like, and bake at 375ºf until golden and bubbling.

vegan option

you can totally make this vegan and still keep the flavor and comfort:

  • use vegan cream cheese (like kite hill or tofutti)
  • use a thick plain unsweetened vegan yogurt (cocojune or culina work well)
  • swap in shredded vegan mozzarella (like violife or miyoko’s)
  • make sure your cornstarch and other ingredients are dairy-free

the vegan version still bakes up beautifully and has that same spanakopita feel—just plant-based.

storage

store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.

reheat in the oven or microwave until warm.

the dip also makes an amazing spread on toast, bagels, or even stirred into warm pasta for a quick meal.

whether you grew up eating spanakopita like me or just appreciate the bold, herby flavors of greek cooking, this dip is a must-make.

it’s warm, comforting, easy to whip up, and always gets devoured.

    1/2 tsp onion powder
    1 tsp dried dill
    1/2 tbsp lemon zest

pinch of salt and black pepper, to taste
    olive oil, for drizzling (optional)
