hi everyone, please welcome Healthier Vegan and Gluten-Free Orange Loaf, which is the ultimate loaf for spring! with Easter coming up and just warmer weather in general, this bread if the perfect addition to your table.
it’s made with AMAZING ingredients and is gluten-free, as long as you use gluten-free oat flour. to ensure, check the label of the oat flour to see if it’s certified.
the ingredient list is super simple and you won’t believe how SOFT and moist the loaf is!
honestly, it’s one of the best things that i’ve made this year and i am so excited for you to try it!
if you’re not a fan of orange, you can always sub lemon. i used 1/3 cup orange juice and 1/3 cup lemon juice should be fine. it might be a little on the tart side though.
between the icing and 1/2 sugar sub (used lakanto monkfruit sweetener), i do think it’s plenty sweet.
you can always opt to make your icing sweeter than mine as i only used 2 tbsp of maple syrup.
while i have only tried Healthier Vegan and Gluten-Free Orange Loaf with oat flour, that doesn’t mean another won’t work, but i can’t guarantee anything.
if you’re looking for a sub, i would try all purpose, whole wheat or a gf 1:1 baking flour.
the loaf bakes for one hour total in the oven by the way! then, it has to fully cool down before you add the icing or it will start running everywhere.
the flavors are outstanding and you won’t find this loaf to be overpoweringly sweet, which is key. you want to be able to taste the orange.

dairy free milk
fresh orange juice

Healthier Vegan and Gluten-Free Orange LoafCourse: Breads, Breakfast
yields 6-7 slices
2 cups gluten free oat flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup sugar sub like lakanto or cane sugar
3/4 cup thick coconut yogurt (used cocojune)
1/2 cup dairy free milk
1/3 cup fresh orange juice
1/4 cup avocado oil or coconut oil
1 tbsp orange zest
1/8 tsp almond extract
1/2 cup melted coconut butter
2 tbsp orange juice
2 tbsp maple syrup
1/4 cup dairy free milk (can add more for thinner texture)
- preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- mix the loaf ingredients until a thick batter forms and there are no lumps.
- add to a well greased bread loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
- cool down completely before adding the icing.
- whisk the icing ingredients well and then add to the top of the bread loaf. cut into slices and enjoy!
- store in the fridge or freezer in an airtight container.
