if you’re going to have a fabulously decadent dessert, you might as well sneak in some nutrients, right?
that’s exactly what i did with Chia and Oat Chocolate Protein Mousse!
it’s the dessert we have all been waiting for. it’s creamy, dreamy, rich and chocolately goodness that is made with wholesome ingredients.

plus, there’s some sneaky protein in there, so this will keep you full for awhile! this is the protein i used.
while the recipe is only shown in one glass, the recipe definitely yields at least two servings worth, maybe three! it’s rich, so you will feel pretty full fast.
you can split it with someone or pop Chia and Oat Chocolate Protein Mousse in the fridge for the next day.

the key ingredients in Chia and Oat Chocolate Protein Mousse are melted chocolate, coconut cream, dairy free yogurt, oats and chia seeds.
the aforementioned ingredients make up the bulk of Chia and Oat Chocolate Protein Mousse.
to keep this dessert on the healthier side, you may want to choose chocolate chips lower in sugar with a high cacao content.
the ones i used are from trader joe’s and only have 4 of grams of sugar per serving.
you could even use unsweetened ones but then the recipe will be pretty bitter, however, it’s up to you of course :).
instead of keeping the chia seeds and oats in their original form, i blended everything together in a food processor.
i just like the consistency much more and the mousse is a bit easier to digest that way!
while i added some brownie bits to the top, that is completely optional! i can provide the recipe below if you’re interested.
the top layer is just a little bit of melted chocolate mixed with dairy free yogurt. i was feeling fancy, ya know?!

here’s everything you need to make Chia and Oat Chocolate Protein Mousse
dairy free chocolate chips
coconut cream
dairy free milk
vanilla extract
chia seeds
rolled oats
dairy free yogurt
cocoa powder
nut butter
maple syrup
if you don’t have access to coconut cream, you could replace that with a very creamy yogurt, which is already in this recipe anyways.
Chia and Oat Chocolate Protein Mousse won’t be quite as firm but still delicious, nonetheless!
